What a huge disappointment. It seems that Joseph Alexanders is under new management and the high tea was not of the previous high quality experienced. A lot of corners have been cut and the food just isn't up to par for the price.
Not enough cream for the tiny scones. The sandwich bread was thick and dry with boring filling. The slivers of carrot tried to look like smoked salmon - we weren't fooled. Cheap, nasty china cups and tea pots were used. Make sure you ask for a completely fresh second pot of tea otherwise they will just add hot water to the dregs of your first pot - yuk. No flowers on the tables. Go to a CBD hotel instead for better value.
