Brighton House, Ipswich
Posted by Lea on October 8th filed in QLD, reviewsLast weekend we took the kids up to Ipswich, for no good reason, just to get out of the house.
After the mandatory play in the excellent Ipswich park (it has an artificial creek that they can run! Soo cool! Waterplay with no leeches!) we wanted some grownup entertainment (umm, no – not that sort!) so we looked around, and what did we find, but *Brighton House* serving High Tea! Guess where we stopped for nibblies?
Brighton House is an absolutely gorgeous heritage listed house, and the owners, Jayne and Allan, are sensibly offering people High Tea on the verandah while soaking up the atmosphere. I loved it!
We had a beautiful selection of little cakes and sandwiches and just a lovely pot of tea. I think we were lucky to get in, as they were busy and chatting with the owners showed that lots of people come there for Occasions, such as bridal showers, birthdays and anniversarys.
I know where we will be stopping next time we are in Ipswich!
(and, yes, the kids behaved beautifully. Mine always do. They know better than to muck up Mother’s high tea!)

(Late Edit: Confirmed – Jayne is an Ipswich Celebrant. Brighton House would be an absolutely gorgeous venue for a small wedding!)
(Psssttt... tell them you found them on High Tea in Australia!)

Hi Lea,
Thank you very much for your fantastic recommendation.
From now until March, we have Twilight High Tea on a Saturday, 6.30-8.30pm, so you might like to try that sometime.
I am now a Civil Marriage Celebrant and will conduct small wedding ceremonies at Brighton House in the garden or on the veranda.
Kind regards,
Jane Payne
